M.T. Somashekara is with the Department of Computer Science and Applications, Bangalore University, Bengaluru. He has over two decades of teaching experience at both UG and PG levels. He has authored three other books ‘Problem Solving with C’, ‘Object-Oriented Programming with C++’’ and ‘Object-Oriented Programming with JAVA’ published by PHI Learning Private Limited, New Delhi and all of these have seen multiple editions. They have been adopted as textbooks/reference books for UG and PG courses of more than a hundred universities and autonomous colleges in the country. He has also authored a unique motivational and directional book on authoring academic books entitled ‘The Journey – From Being a Reader to Becoming an Author’ brought out by Khanna Publishing House and it is useful for those aspiring to become academic authors as it not only motivates but guides also as to how to go about academic authoring.
