The course Theory of Machines & Mechanisms provides a basic knowledge of the principle of working of mechanical elements and explores through examples and solved problems. The course is presented in five units. Units 1 deals with the Cams and followers; Unit 2 power Transmission elements like belts, gears, and chains; Unit 3 covers flywheels and governors; Unit 4 Brakes and dynamometers; and Unit 5 deals with balancing of revolving masses and vibrations. All unit in the book gives the objectives of the study and expectations from the students in exercising OBE. The working principle of each mechanical element, derivation, and numerical problem made the reader understand the course effectively.
