Formwork is one of the most neglected subject in any civil construction as it is only a part of enabling work. Strict norms on safety and proper design of formwork is generally not addressed properly in case of normal construction. The construction happening in the rural areas and in some part of urban areas are (mostly residential constructions) carried out using conventional material available in the market (Timber, casuarina poles).
The requirement for good Formwork is realized after the introduction of Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC) in the market, in which the formwork should be adequately designed to take care of the concrete pressure.
