Author
Santosh Kumar:
Former Professor of civil Engineering at the Bihar college of Engineering/NIT Patna obtained his Bachelorās degree in civil Engineering from Regional Institute of Technology/IT Jamshedpur and Masterās degree from University of Roorkee/IIT Roorkee. Further he obtained Dip. H.E. from Patna University,ā Prof. Kumar taught water resources related subjects for more than 40 years. During his tenure he successfully guided four Ph.Ds. and a record 28 M.Tech dissertations. He also produced more than 50 research papers. Later he also acquired advanced knowledge in Environmental Science.ā Dr. Kumar was picked up by the World Bank as a consultant to its projects in Bihar at FMISC, where he served for four years. He is a fellow of Institution of Engineers India; Chairman Indian Water Resources Society (Patna Chapter).
Dr. Kumar has authored an important bookā River Engineering ā Theory and Practiceā. He is also a visiting faculty to Patna University. Being a social activist he coaches poor children (Class 4 to 10) in Science and Mathematics at his residence.
