ARCHITECHTURE and BUILDINGS: An architect is defined as master builder, one who design buildings and superintends their erection, and the architecture as the art and science of the buildings. Architecture is one of the few professions which strike a balance between technical, artistic, practical, economic and social considerations.
Every building is a part of ecological system and has a footprint It means taking a wide-angle view of the architecture in the context of urbanism, ecology and environment, including, bio-diversity and natural resources, water and energy. As such, architecture is changing from functional to organizational, from architectonic to urbanism and from building’ provides a comprehensive and narrative on history of architecture, Indian architecture, vaastu, the basic of design, green building, building resources and technology, planning and design .

A.K. Jain, as Commissioner (Planning) Delhi Development Authority worked on the Master Plan for Delhi-2021, National Urban Housing and Habitual Policy, National Urban Transport Policy and various urban projects. He was a member of the Committee Constituted by the Ministry of Urban Development, GOI to review the statute of the Delhi Development Authority vis-a-vis the changing urban scenario and new policy initiatives. As a member of editorial Board of International Journal of Environmental Studies (UK) and is author of several books on urban development and management. He is visiting faculty at Delhi School of Planning and Architecture and other Institutes. He was awarded 2nd Urban Professional Award 2014 at World Urban Forum in Medellin, Colombia in recognition of being an exemplary city changer. Union Minister for Urban Development honored him with IBC Lifetime Achievement Award (2016).
